Digimon First opening weekend numbers

Digimon opened to 1823 screens on it's opening weekend as was the 4th top selling movie on it's opening day, Friday October 6th. By the end of the weekend Digimon held the number 5 spot and had been shown to over 4 million people.
By Contrast, Pokémon the Movie 2000 opened in 2752 theatres to an audience of some 20 million viewers, placing it in the #3 position for it's opening weekend (July 21st to 23rd)
