Central Park Media Launches CPM Press

posted on by Christopher Macdonald
CPM Press to envelop CPM Manga, CPM Manhwa and CPM Comics. Change of format.

Celebrating their 100th graphic novel release, Central Park Media announced today the creation of CPM Press, an umbrella brand that will envelop it's existing CPM Manga, CPM Manhwa and CPM Comics. Reacting to the current market trend, CPM press will be issuing all of its books in a five by seven-and-three-quarter inch format starting in 2004 (two early 2004 releases will be in a different format), this is essentially the same size that other companies have switched to.

CPM will also be repricing their paperbacks to be cheaper $9.99 and they will be printing the manga un-flipped whenever possible (All new manga will be un-flipped, but some older titles or re-releases may remain flipped). They are also considering re-releasing older titles in the new, smaller and cheaper format, but no concrete decisions have been made.

Ironically, their 100th graphic novel, Slayers: Super-Explosive Demon Story Book 3: Red Priest, due on December 3rd, will not be in the new format.
