Howl's Moving Castle Surpasses Mononoke and Moves Up.

Displaying the theatrical resiliency of Miyazaki's movies at the Japanese box office, Howl's Mobing Castle moved up this week from fourth place to second, while several movies that premiered above it in recent weeks, including Ocean's Twelve and The Bourne Supremacy, have fallen below it. The Phantom of the Opera however remains at the top for the fourth straight week, after premiering in secon behin Ocean's Twleve 5 weeks ago.

Meanwhile, TOHO announced today that over 14 million tickets to see Howl's Moving Castle have been sold. This surpasses Princess Mononoke's theatrical sales, but not Spirited Away's record 23 million sales.
