More On Tokyopop Takuhai

Intended to Replace Tokyopop's "Sneaks"

Tokyopop Takuhai (Literally home delivery, not just delivery as previously stated), is intended as a publicity vehicle to replace Tokyopop's "Sneaks". The "Sneaks" are graphic novel sized preview compilations that Tokyopop has been putting out for a number of years now. These were available for free at conventions, and stores.

Like "Sneaks", the first volume of Takuhai will be published in the graphic novel format, although subsequent volumes may be published in a magazine format. Although Takuhai will also be available at conventions, one big difference between Sneaks and Takuhai, is that Takuhai will be available by mail, for free. The quarterly, 160-page magazine will contain 5-10 previews of Tokyopop titles (versus 15 in Sneaks), creator interviews, additional art, a feature called "Evolution of a Manga" (focusing on Princess Ai in the first volume) and other editorial content.

Previews in the first volume of Takuhai are expected to include (subject to change) Tramps Like Us, RG Veda, Legal Drug, Lagoon Engine, Sakura Taisen, Princess Ai, MBQ, Sokora Refugees, Van Von Hunter and Bizenghast.

It's not yet known if Tokyopop intends to entirely cancel "Sneaks", or just release it less frequently.
