Miyazaki Directing Mon Mon the Water Spider for Ghibli Museum

On Sunday Hayao Miyazaki announced that 3 brand-new anime will be shown in January 2005 at the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka, Tokyo.

The announcement was made during the Tokyo International Film Festival currently underway in Roppongi, Tokyo. The films that will be shown in January include “Mon Mon the Water Spider”, a 15 minute short film set in the motif of previously proposed anime “The Caterpillar's Coat.”

Guests to the museum will be able to see the films as part of the 1000 yen general museum admission cost. Currently, there are no plans to show the anime in theatres. More details will be posted on the Ghibli Museum, Mitaka website in November.
