Anime Boston confirms first Japanese guests

Directors of Kyo kara Maoh! and Mobile Fighter G Gundam to appear at April 20-22 convention.

Anime Boston, which will be held at the Hynes Convention Center in downtown Boston on April 20-22, has announced a second round of Japanese and American guests of honor. For the first time, Anime Boston is pleased to welcome Junji Nishimura. Nishimura worked as an assistant director on Urusei Yatsura, directed the classic Ranma 1/2, and recently was the director of Kyo kara Maoh!. Mr. Nishimura will be joined by Yasuhiro Imagawa, the screenwriter of Berserk, Petshop of Horrors, and the recent Fist of the Blue Sky TV series. In addition, Mr. Imagawa worked as a unit director on Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam and was the chief director of Mobile Fighter G Gundam. In 1996-1997, the two worked together as director and scipt writer on the TV series Violinist of Hamelin.

Anime Boston has also confirmed several new American producting and voice talent guests. The first is industry veteran Grant Moran's, whose recent credits include adapting Lupin the Third to be broadcast on Adult Swim and Viewtiful Joe on Kids WB. He is joined by Tom Wayland, ADR Director on various Central Park Media titles and founder of the dubbing studio TripWire Productions, and Mike Sinterniklaas, head of the NYAV Post studio. This slate of guest updates is rounded out by two Funimation voice directors, Chris Bevins (Samurai 7, Beck, Speed Grapher) and Mike McFarland (Fullmetal Alchemist, Trinity Blood), and voice actress Lucy Christian, best known as the voice of Chidori in the three Full Metal Panic! series.
