Japanese publisher launches general-interest and shounen-ai titles directly into the US market

After signing a distribution deal with Diamond last week, Aurora Publishing, the fully-owned subsidiary of Ohzora, one of Japan's largest manga publishing houses, has announced its first titles. Chihiro Tamaki's "Walkin' Butterfly", about a girl's transformation from delivering pizza to being a fashion model, will be released starting in June. Shoko Hamada's three-volume "Flock of Angels" and Kaoru Ohashi's one-shot "Nightmares for Sale" will follow later in the year.

Joining several other companies offering manga to American readers, Ohzora is also launching a separate shounen-ai imprint. The first three titles published under this label, named Deux Press, will be "Hate to Love You", "Spring Fever", and "I Shall Never Return" (which was adapted into an OVA that is being released in North America by Media Blasters).
