Kappa Mikey's Animation Collective Mods Speed Racer

Variety reports that Lionsgate will reanimate Speed Racer with New York's Animation Collective. Animation Collective also animates the Kappa Mikey spoof of Japanese culture. This 2008 reincarnation features the original Speed Racer's son who drives a non-gas-guzzling Mach 6. The initial 26 episodes will air on Nicktoons, Nickelodeon's cartoon channel spinoff. Besides the unrelated live-action movie (on whose promotional campaign Liongate hopes to capitalize), there have been three other revivals of Speed Racer or the original Mach Go Go Go anime from both America and Japan.
