Chika Umino, Kazuhiro Kumagai, Shokotan's Newest Manga

Hakusensha's Young Animal manga magazine has posted the television commercial for Sangatsu no Lion (The Lion of March), the previously announced new work from Honey and Clover shōjo manga creator Chika Umino. The manga began on July 13 in issue No. 14 of this magazine, which is nominally aimed at young adult males. The romance manga centers on shogi, a Japanese board game related to chess.
Kazuhiro Kumagai, the creator of the Samurai Gun manga and anime, is starting a new work called Monochrome Jet in issue No. 17 (on sale August 1) of Shueisha's Business Jump manga magazine. The "henshin hero" (costume-changing superhero) action story revolves around a freelance writer who confronts a band of killers out for revenge.
Multimedia idol and cosplaying singer Shōko Nakagawa ("Shokotan") will fulfill a "childhood dream" by publishing her first manga called Nōko no Koi. In the six-part manga, Noriko, "a girl who was raised without love," is rescued from a dire situation by a mysterious figure. It will run in the September 8 issue of Ohta Shuppan's hon-nin, the quarterly magazine overseen by her Otona Kikaku theatrical troupe's supervisor Matsuo Suzuki.
