Osaka Police Sweeps 70 Stores for "Harmful" Shōjo Mags - Update

List of 81 identified "harmful" publications posted by government
The official website of Osaka Prefecture has an irregularly updated list of the "harmful publications" that are to be restricted from readers under 18 years old. This list and the law that spurred its creation were the rationale for the Osaka police's June 8 sweep of 70 bookstores and retailers. The Kyoto city government has a different list of the manga publications it considers "harmful."
Update: ComiPress has posted a comprehensive article on the various events leading to the current controversies. Since the June 8 bookstore sweep, the Osaka government has added three publications to its list of harmful publications on June 21, and ten more publications on July 18.
