Mononoke Adapter Neil Gaiman Visits Studio Ghibli

posted on by Egan Loo
Neil Gaiman, the author of the Sandman comics, the Stardust novel, and other acclaimed works, visited Studio Ghibli this week. He wrote in a blog post, "I plan to…pay my respects there, something I've wanted to do since they first invited me, when I was working on [the English adaptation of] Princess Mononoke, all those years ago." He met Mononoke director Hayao Miyazaki, producer Toshio Suzuki, and Steve Alpert (vice-president of Ghibli's international division). Miyazaki showed Gaiman the nursery he is building as a "side project." Gaiman is in Japan to promote the Stardust film adaptation. Thanks, John Blackburne via the Miyazaki Mailing List.
