posted on by Egan Loo
Viz Media has announced that its three newest volumes of the Naruto ninja action manga swept the top three slots on Nielsen BookScan's Top 50 Graphic Novel list for the week ending September 23. With volumes 16, 17, and 18 placing on top as well as previous volumes and Naruto Anime Profiles: Episodes 38-80 following behind, Naruto took 14 of the top 50 spots. Viz notes that 2.3 million copies of Naruto manga have been sold domestically, or about 130,000 copies per volume. (As of August, the 39 Japanese volumes sold 69 million copies.) Along with other charting titles such as Bleach and Death Note, Viz held 33 of the top 50 spots.
