posted on by Mikhail Koulikov
Manga-style adaptation of Burning Crusade expansion scheduled for 2009

The videogame news website Blizzplanet.com is reporting that in March of 2009, Tokyopop will publish a new original graphic novel set in the universe of the World of Warcraft online role-playing game. Warcraft: Dragons of Outland, with a story written by science fiction and fantasy author Keith R.A. DeCandido, will be based on The Burning Crusade expansion of World of Warcraft. An artist for this book has not been chosen yet.

In addition, in August of this year, Tokyopop expects to bring out a manga-style Starcraft comic, but no specific plot details have been announced. Tokyopop currently offers three English-language volumes of the Warcraft - The Sunwell Trilogy manga-style graphic novels drawn by Korean artist Kim Jae-Hwan.

Update: Blizzplanet clarified a few points: Richard A. Knaak is writing Warcraft: Dragons of Outland, as he had done for The Sunwell Trilogy. Keith R.A. DeCandido told Blizzplanet six months ago that he was negotiating on the Starcraft graphic novel, but has not yet officially confirmed that he is working on the project.
