Animation fest to also show MTV Japan's "Usavich," I.G's "Asience" anime

"Franz Kafka's A Country Doctor," Koji Yamamura's award-winning anime adaptation of the early-20th-century short story, has been picked to compete at Brazil's 16th annual Anima Mundi International Animation Festival. The festival will run in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from July 11 to July 20, and in Sao Paolo from July 23 to July 27. Another Yamamura short, "Kodomo no Kejijogaku" ("A Child's Metaphysics"), was also selected for the festival's short films competition, and so was the "La Maison en Petits Cubes" film directed by Kunio Kato. An episode of Yoshitaka Amano's Vegetable Fairies N.Y. Salad anime series will be screened in the Shorts for Children section of the festival, while its non-competitive Panorama category will feature MTV Japan's minimalist "Usavich." Production I.G's "Asience - A Hairy Tale" animated advertisement will also be exhibited in the competitive Portfolio program.
