posted on by Egan Loo
Absolute Boyfriend, Vampire Knight also sell in top 5

The ICv2 retail news source reports on the BookScan Top 20 Graphic Novels for May in the American retail market. Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto volumes 29 and 28 tops the chart, and volume 1 continues to sell at #19. Right below the two top Naruto volumes was Shiro Amano's Kingdom Hearts II volume 2. However, shōjo manga also continue to sell well with Yuu Watase's Absolute Boyfriend volume 6 at #4 and no less than three of Matsuri Hino's Vampire Knight volumes in the top 20: volume 4 at #5, volume 1 at #14, and volume 3 at #20.

Other Japanese titles in the top 20 include Clamp's Tsubasa, the first two volumes of Tsugumi Ohba's Death Note, Yuna Kagesaki's Chibi Vampire, Natsuki Takaya's Fruits Basket, Katsura Hoshino's D.Gray-man, Kentarō Yabuki's Black Cat, Yoshiki Nakamura's Skip Beat!, and Miyuki Kobayashi's Kitchen Princess. There were only three non-Japanese titles in the top 20, and Viz Media collected 12 spots for itself.
