posted on by Egan Loo

As the date for the 2008 World Cosplay Summit, set to be held on August 3 and 4 in Nagoya, Japan, draws closer, three more teams have been selected to represent their countries in the final competition. Laura Salviani and Cecile Auclaire, dressed as Oruha and Suu from CLAMP's Clover, were named the French finalists an July 6, at the Japan Expo in Paris.

On the same day, the Singapore national qualifier also took place. The team of Gerald Tham and Goh I Hwa, with costumes of Sailor Moon's Prince Endymion and Princess Serenity, took first place and will join the thirteen other teams competing at the Summit.

As the WCS host country, Japan will field two finalist teams. At a May 18 event in Tokyo, the first of these was selected from among five groups of competitors. On July 13, the second Japanese team was also chosen. Yui and Mino's Code Geass costumes were named the best out of 10 competing teams.

At this point, the only country that is yet to select its pair of WCS finalists is China. Some 10,000 people are expected to take part in various regional cosplay contests throughout the country, which will lead up to the national competition at the July 17-19 China Joy video-gaming event.
