2009 Doraemon Film Announced, Trailer Streamed

The official Japanese website of the Doraemon anime movies has posted a trailer for the 29th entry in the long-running feature film series: Eiga Doraemon: Shin Nobita no Uchū Kaitakushi (Doraemon the Movie: Nobita's How Space Was Won, New Edition). The 2009 movie is the second film adaptation of a classic 1980-1981 manga story arc in which the robotic cat Doraemon and his hapless owner Nobita travel to space; the first Doraemon: Nobita no Uchū Kaitakushi film premiered in 1981. The original manga story's title is a homage to the Japanese title for the 1962 epic Western, How the West Was Won (Seibu Kaitakushi). The new Doraemon film will open in Japan during the traditional spring break in Japan.
