The December issue (released on November 1) of Shueisha's Ribon magazine has announced that Arina Tanemura (Full Moon O Sagashite, The Gentlemen's Alliance Cross, Kamikaze Kaitō Jeanne) will launch a new manga called Sakura-Hime Kaden in the January issue, which goes on sale on December 1. The "love and battle" story is set in the distant past of the Heian era, the period of Japanese history between 794 and 1185. Tanemura ended The Gentlemen's Alliance Cross manga this past June, although she released a side story in September. She also serialized a short manga called Zettai Kakusei Tenshi Mistress Fortune from June to August. Viz Media has published Tanemura's Full Moon wo Sagashite, The Gentlemen's Alliance Cross, I.O.N., Short-Tempered Melancholy, and Time Stranger Kyoko in North America, while CMX published Kamikaze Kaitō Jeanne.

The February issue (on sale in January) of Ribon will have a new unnamed manga by Nana Haruta, the creator of Love-Berrish! and Saboten no Himitsu. Even though she is only 23, Haruta already has an eight-year professional career in manga; she debuted in 2000 as one of the youngest manga creators ever published in Japan. Aishiteruze Baby and Sora Sora creator Yōko Maki will then launch a new manga in Ribon's March issue (on sale in February). Viz Media published Aishiteruze Baby in North America.
