CoMix Wave Films' Peeping Life CG Anime Posted Online

"Ennui-style slow-life anime" combines motion-captured improv with CG

CoMix Wave Films and BROSTA TV have made the first episode of their Peeping Life comedy series available for downloading (as a 320x320 MP4 file) or streaming (on BROSTA TV's site or Yahoo! Videocast's site) on Monday. Like MTV Japan's The World of GOLDEN EGGS, this new "slow-life anime" is part of the datsuryoku-kei (ennui-style) genre of comedy that depicts the listless minutiae of everyday life. The series combines motion-captured improvised acting with computer animation into a series of comedy shorts.

The streaming version of the episode begins with a six-minute interview with the series producer and director Ryōichi Mori ("Each Life"). The downloadable version takes the eight-minute episode that ran on Japanese television on Friday, and adds the ending credits with the "Satori no Sho" theme song by the artist detune. The downloadable version will be available for three weeks.
