Zoku Natsume Yūjin-chō Promo Movie Streamed (Updated)

Crunchyroll to delay ghost-story sequel's English-subbed debut until Monday

The official Japanese website of the Zoku Natsume Yūjin-Chō anime series has began streaming a 30-second promotional movie on Tuesday. This series continues the story after the first 13-episode anime adaptation of Yuki Midorikawa's Natsume Yūjin-Chō ghost-story manga. The first episode of Zoku Natsume Yūjin-Chō just premiered in Japan on January 5. The promotional movie features the "ano hi Time Machine" opening theme song by LONG SHOT PARTY.

The Crunchyroll video-sharing website announced that its English-subtitled streaming of the first Zoku Natsume Yūjin-Chō episode will be delayed until next Monday. However, on that day, the website will host all 13 episodes of the first Natsume Yūjin-Chō anime series, the first episode of the Zoku follow-up, and the second Zoku episode one hour after it airs in Japan. Every episode after that will also be posted online one hour after it airs.

The story revolves around Natsume, a boy who has been able to see ghosts since he was little. Unfortunately, humans shun him, and there is not much fondness between him and ghosts either. One day, he inherits a Yūjin-Chō ("Book of Friends") from his grandmother. The book is actually full of contracts that his grandmother made to trap ghosts. As one ghost after another shows up, Natsume tries to release or help them — even while many of them seek vengeance on him. The new season will showcase more characters from the manga such as Kuro-Nyanko-sensei, Gen, and Tama-chan.
