Box Set with Viz's I''s, I''s Pure Listed on Retail Site (Update 2)

posted on by Egan Loo
Two video anime adaptations of Masakazu Katsura's original romantic manga

The DVD Empire retail website lists a 240-minute I''s DVD box set for release by Viz Media on March 24. Two anime series — the two-episode I''s series (2002) and the six-volume I''s Pure series (2005) — adapted Masakazu Katsura's original romantic manga. Katsura had also created the Video Girl Ai, DNA², and Wingman manga, and all three were adapted into anime. Viz Media published the 15 volumes of the manga from 2005 to 2007.

The story revolves around an ordinary high school boy, Ichitaka, who has a crush on Iori, the most popular girl in his class. He gets a chance to work with her on the Freshman Welcoming Ceremony Committee — but just then, his childhood “girlfriend,” Itsuki, returns from America and lives in his house.

Update: The forum poster WTK has provided ANN with the retail solicitation sheet (PDF file) for this DVD release. The DVD is listed at US$29.98 (C$39.99) for six episodes, although the two I''s series contain eight episodes. It will have bilingual (English/Japanese) soundtracks, English subtitles, and the original music.

Update 2: The PDF and the information within it have since been retracted. However, The Right Stuf International and AAA Anime Distribution both now list the DVD.
