TV show from Requiem from the Darkness author, PSP RPG inspire new shorts

New video anime based on the recent Mōryō no Hako television anime series and the Ken to Mahō to Gakuen Mono. 2 (Sword and Sorcery and School Stuff. 2) role-playing game are planned for release in Japan over the next two months. The Madhouse studio had animated the Mōryō no Hako supernatural mystery novel from Natsuhiko Kyōgoku (Requiem from the Darkness) as a television series last year. The anime featured original character designs by CLAMP (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, X, Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE). The anime distributor VAP will release the Blu-ray Disc Box version of the television series on May 22 with a 16-minute anime extra. The "Chuzenji Atsuko no Jikenbo 'Hako no Yūrei no Koto'" ("The Case Files of Atsuko Chuzenji: 'The Case of the Spirits in the Boxes'") side story will reveal the investigative notes that Atsuko, the younger sister of the main character Akihiko Chuzenji, wrote about the brutal dismembering incidents in the main story.

The official website of Acquire's Ken to Mahō to Gakuen Mono. 2 role-playing game has posted screenshots of the original anime that will be included on a DVD with the first pressing of the game in June. (In the linked page, select the button on the bottom that reads "特典DVDアニメ情報はこちら.") The "classical 3D dungeon and school role-playing game" for the Sony PSP console is the sequel to last year's Ken to Mahō to Gakuen Mono. game from the same studio. Both games combine 3D dungeon-exploring gameplay, reminiscent of Wizardry, with role-playing of student life in a school.
