Japanese Animation Blu-ray Disc Ranking, August 24-30

According to the Oricon survey firm, Yukihiko Tsutsumi's second live-action film based on Naoki Urasawa's 20th Century Boys suspense manga debuted at #2 on the weekly Blu-ray Disc (BD) chart. With 7,717 copies sold, it is the top-selling Japanese live-action film in first-week sales on the format so far; the first film sold 7,251 copies in its first week. However, Oricon also says that the seventh and final volume of Sunrise's Mobile Suit Gundam 00 Second Season sold 10,000 BDs in the same week. Fullmetal Alchemist was #3 with 5,000 BDs, followed by the Ghost in the Shell Complex Blu-ray Disc Box 1 with 4,000 copies. 5th is the third volume of the Queen's Blade anime with 4,000 copies also.
On SoundScan Japan's weekly Blu-ray chart, the second 20th Century Boys film placed #1, and the Minori Chihara Live Tour 2009~Parade~Live BD placed #5. (SoundScan Japan's methods of surveying the home video sales above are different from Oricon's, which often lead to differing results.)
