Astro Boy, Kobato, Sacred Blacksmith Promos Posted (Updated)

Astro Boy worldwide in October 23; Kobato. & Blacksmith on October 6 & 3

The Moviefone website has posted a 204-second, high-definition video clip from IMAGI's computer-animated version of Osamu Tezuka's Astro Boy (Mighty Atom) manga on Thursday. In the clip, the title character realizes he is a robot, before he must evade capture in a high-speed chase through the skies of a city. The film will open in Japan on October 10, and then will open in North America on October 23. Dark Horse Comics publishes the original manga in North America, and The Right Stuf International, Manga Entertainment, and Sony have released the various anime adaptations.

The Japanese publisher Kadokawa has begun streaming a 30-second promotional video for the television anime adaptation of Clamp's Kobato. manga on the YouTube website on Friday. Kobato. is a young girl who "cures" other people's pain and fills a mysterious bottle with feelings of suffering from their hearts. The anime premieres in Japan on October 6. Yen Press licensed the original manga in North America.

The Japanese production company Media Factory has posted a 38-second commercial for its television anime adaptation of Isao Miura and Runa's The Sacred Blacksmith light novels. Media Factory also posted a 34-second preview of the first episode, but it is not viewable in North America. The story takes place after an abominable war that foisted a "devil's contract" upon a land. Cecily Campbell, a former noble's daughter who joined a knighthood, encounters a man who dispatches some hoodlums with one sweep of a mysterious sword. The man possesses the power of the same "devil's contract" that became taboo once peace had been restored. Cecily has been searching for a blacksmith who can repair an old sword she inherited from her father, and that mysterious young man happens to be blacksmith named Luke Ainsworth. The anime will premiere in Japan on October 3.
