MangaGamer Adds Koihime†Musō, More Da Capo Games

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Other game titles, new date for Higurashi: When They Cry also revealed

The game publisher MangaGamer revealed on Monday that it has acquired the licensing rights to the Koihime†Musō adult adventure game, two more games from the Da Capo franchise, and several other game titles.

The Koihime†Musō game is slated to be released at the end of February. The game is the basis for both a manga and a television anime series, which is streaming on Crunchyroll. An original video anime spinoff was released back in April. A second television anime series, titled Shin Koihime Musō, began airing in October, and is also streaming on Crunchyroll. The adult adventure game franchise and its anime adaptations re-imagine the characters from the Chinese novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms as "moe (fiery), moe (preciously cute) action love comedy" with an almost all-female cast.

MangaGamer has slated two more Da Capo games — D.C.I.F ~Da Capo Innocent Finale~ and Da Capo II — for June and July, respectively. The D.C. Da Capo game franchise inspired several manga adaptations and four anime series with one video spinoff. An all-new D.C. anime is currently in development. MangaGamer already released the first game in the series.

Other games that MangaGamer has scheduled for release are Soul Link, Edelweiss Eiden Fantasia, Kira Kira Curtain Call, and "a few adult titles from NEXTON" (the creators of One: True Stories). Soul Link, the inspiration for the 2006 television anime of the same name, is slated to be released on November 30. Edelweiss Eiden Fantasia and Kira Kira Curtain Call are to be released in January and March, respectively.

MangaGamer.com also confirmed that the first four installments of the Higurashi: When They Cry ( Higurashi no Naku Koro ni) suspense horror visual novel series will be released on December 15. MangaGamer had previously announced at Anime Expo this year that they would release the first four installments by the end of October. The company stated that Part 5 "and beyond” will be released in February.

All games will be available for download on the MangaGamer.com website.
