Eden of the East II Film Expanded, Delayed Until March

2-month delay due to "production issues" as 30 more minutes are planned

The anime studio Production I.G has announced on Wednesday that Eden of the East the Movie II: Paradise Lost, the second film sequel to the Eden of the East anime series, has been delayed until March. The film was originally scheduled for January 9. The company cited "production issues" for the delay, since the company had initially planned two 60-minute film sequels. However, as the story structure of the films expanded, the company extended the runtime of the first film sequel to 82 minutes. The second film sequel is now slated to run for 90 minutes.

The first film sequel, Eden of the East the Movie I: The King of Eden, will open as planned this Saturday in Japan.

Funimation announced at the Otakon event in July that it licensed the original television series for North America. The television series and the films feature Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex director Kenji Kamiyama and character designer Chika Umino (Honey and Clover).
