Film to premiere at Glasgow Film Festival

Author Jonathan Clements confirmed on his Schoolgirl Milky Crisis blog on Friday that the UK premiere of Hideaki Anno and Khara's Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance (Evangelion Shin Gekijōban: Ha) movie will be on February 15 at the Glasgow Film Festival at the Glasgow Film Theatre.

Clements, author of both Schoolgirl Milky Crisis and The Anime Encyclopedia, will be on site to introduce the movie. According to Clements, a representative from the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) will also be presenting a "brief talk on anime censorship" on the same day.

Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance is the second film in the theatrical film remake of Anno and Gainax's Neon Genesis Evangelion television anime series. It opened in Japan on June 27 and then ran in Sitges in Spain. The film continues the story of a group of 14-year-olds entrusted with giant biomechanical units to protect Earth from mysterious Angels. Funimation has released the first film in the remake, Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone (Evangelion Shin Gekijōban: Jo), in North America this year in theaters and on home video.

The Waterloo Festival for Animated Cinema premiered the movie in North America on November 21. At the Lyon Asian Film Festival in France in November, the film "narrowly" won first place in the animation category.
