Game-Based Dante's Inferno Animated Video Clips Posted

Kite's Yasuomi Umetsu, Ergo Proxy's Shukou Murase, others helm 6-part project

The international anime distributor Manga Entertainment is streaming two new video clips and two animatic footage clips for the Japanese/Korean animated spinoff video based on Electronics Arts' Dante's Inferno game. Dante's Inferno: An Animated Epic is a six-part anthology that the Japanese studio Production I.G is animating with other partners for Manga Entertainment's parent company Starz Media and Visceral Games. It will ship in North America on Blu-ray and DVD with six different cover variants on February 9. The previously released trailer is still being streamed.

Kite creator Usuomi Umetsu revealed in a May blog entry that he and Saber Marionette J character designer Tsukasa Kotobuki were working on the anthology — before the anthology's staff was officially announced. Production I.G confirmed at Anime Expo in July that it is also involved in the project along with Ergo Proxy director Shukou Murase.

Lee Seung-Gyu, Kim Sang-Jin, Nam Jong-Sik, and Victor Cook are directing the other four segments. The other studios involved include Japan's Manglobe and Korea's JM Animation and Dongwoo Animation. Film Roman, a subsidiary of Starz Media, will tie the release of the animated project with the 2010 launch of the game.
