Crunchyroll, Funimation Stream Shinkai Works, Moeyo Ken (Updated)

The Crunchyroll media-distribution website has announced that it will celebrate Global Shinkai Day on March 5 by streaming three works by auteur director Makoto Shinkai. For 48 hours starting at 5:00 p.m. PST on March 5, Crunchyroll will stream Shinkai's 5 Centimeters Per Second, Voices of a Distant Star, and The Place Promised in Our Early Days for free to all Crunchyroll members. Crunchyroll launched a similar event for the first celebration of Global Shinkai Day last year. The organizers of Global Shinkai Day are also holding contests in which the prizes are 5 Centimeters Per Second posters signed by Shinkai himself.
In a separate development, the official blog of the North American anime distributor Funimation noted on Tuesday that it posted more free episodes on its own website and on the YouTube and Hulu websites this past week. Some of these titles are also available on ANN. Among the titles are all 13 dubbed episodes of Moeyo Ken and all 13 subtitled episodes of Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid.
