Seven Seas Adds A Certain Scientific Railgun Manga (Updated)

The North American manga publisher Seven Seas Entertainment is revealing three new licenses through puzzles on its Twitter account between Sunday and Tuesday. The hints for the third manga title are the anagram "Incise Fanatical Recruiting" and the riddle below:

On a scale from 0 to 5, this series' protagonist is a 5...and there's only a few of them.

Motoi Fuyukawa created Toaru Kagaku no Railgun (A Certain Scientific Railgun), a manga spinoff of Kazuma Kamachi's Toaru Majutsu no Index (A Certain Magic Index) light novels. This side story is based on Kamachi's original story set in Academy City, a city where about 80% of its 2.3 million citizens are students. The story deals with the adventures of Mikoto Misaka, one of the Level 5 psychics in the Toaru Majutsu no Index light novels.

The Toaru Kagaku no Railgun manga has been running in ASCII Media Works' Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh magazine since the April 2007 issue, and the fifth and latest compiled volumes shipped in Japan last month. A television anime adaptation premiered in Japan last October, and two video spinoffs have since been announced. Funimation announced at Anime Expo earlier this month that it licensed the television anime adaptations of both Toaru Majutsu no Index and Toaru Kagaku no Railgun.

Seven Seas will not have a panel at this week's Comic-Con International in San Diego, but it will have a booth (#2303). The publisher already hinted on Sunday that it licensed Zekkyō's manga version of Yuyuko Takemiya's Toradora! romantic comedy light novels series. It also hinted on Monday that it licensed the Kagerō Meikyū (Amnesia Labyrinth) mystery manga from Nagaru Tanigawa, the author of the Haruhi Suzumiya light novels, and artist Kohane Natsumi.
