X Japan's Toshi to also resume solo career; band's lawsuit detailed

The members of the rock band X Japan announced the details of their upcoming North American tour this fall. Starting next month, the band will perform seven shows:

  • September 25 - Los Angeles
  • September 28 - Oakland
  • October 1 - Seattle
  • October 3 - Vancouver
  • October 6 - Chicago
  • October 7 - Toronto
  • October 10 - New York

The rock band L'Arc~en~Ciel's 20th anniversary concert will start at the Makuhari Messe event center in Chiba, Japan at midnight on New Year's Eve. The center has an estimated capacity of 20,000 for the event, and the concert has been named "L'A HAPPY NEW YEAR!" The band also intends to release a new single and plan a tour that will be at least as big as their 2008 tour, which was attended by 320,000 people over 10 concerts in seven cities.

Meanwhile, X Japan's vocalist ToshI (44) revealed earlier this month that he will be resuming his solo career with a new single next month. He added that he will be teaming up with YOSHIKI to start a new project next year. Finally, there is an impending lawsuit between Japan Music Agency (management office of X Japan's YOSHIKI) and Headwax Organization (the management office of Hide, X Japan's late guitarist). Headwax plans to seek an injunction against X Japan's use of Hide's likeness unless the band fulfilled contracts obligations, and YOSHIKI has declared that a counterclaim may be filed.
