posted on by Gia Manry
Supernatural anime, live-action Gokutsuma Deka promos also streamed

The official website for Brains Base's television anime adaptation of Akiko Higashimura's Kuragehime manga has begun streaming a second 107-second promotional video on Thursday. The anime will premiere on October 14.

The award-winning story centers around Tsukimi Kurashita, a huge fan of jellyfish (kurage, a wordplay on the "kura/mi" and "tsuki/ge" in her name) who moves to Tokyo to become an illustrator. She moves into "Amamizukan," an apartment complex that is full of diehard female otaku with a no-men-allowed rule. However, one day, Tsukimi invites a stylishly fashionable woman to stay at her room at Amamizukan — only to discover that the guest is not who "she" seems to be.

The official website for the Mayo elle Otokonoko cross-dressing anime series has also begun streaming a 89-second promotional video via YouTube. The anime is a spinoff from the WAaI! boys in skirts magazine. A promotional anime DVD with a special dōjinshi will ship on October 22.

Keiichiro Kawaguchi (Hayate the Combat Butler, Moetan) is directing at the anime studio Actas. Kikuko Sadakata (Princess Resurrection, Shikabane Hime) is adapting the original character designs by POP (Moetan, Kowarekake no Orgel). Nobuhiko Tenkawa (Taishō Yakyū Musume, Toaru Kagaku no Railgun) is scripting the anime, and Atsumu Fukunaga, Shunpei Maruyama (Kotetsushin Jeeg), and Shake-Up are producing. The cast includes Yui Sakakibara, Kana Hanazawa, Yuka Iguchi, Ayumi Fujimura, Saki Fujita, Mariya Ise, and Mayuki Makiguchi.

Funimation has released an English-language theatrical trailer for the anime film Summer Wars, which is currently streaming on YouTube. Funimation announced its license of Mamoru Hosoda's film at Otakon in July. The company intends to release it in theaters in the United States, starting in Los Angeles and New York in December.

The trailer for the anime adaptation of the American television series Supernatural is now streaming in Japan with an introduction from live-action actors Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles (Sam and Dean Winchester, respectively) added to the beginning. The animated portion of the trailer has already been streaming since October 8. The anime adaptation was announced in June, and the Japanese DVD/Blu-ray Disc release will launch in February. Padalecki and Ackles will not only do a special English dub for the second collector's box of the anime, but they will also introduce each of the 22 episodes and appear in video interviews.

The official website for the live-action film adaptation of Takeshi Yokoi's manga Gokutsuma Deka is currently streaming a trailer for the film. The ongoing manga and film revolve around the wife of a yakuza boss who is also a secret investigator for the police. Actress Rio Matsumoto (Ace wo Nerae!'s Reika Ryuuzaki). The film will open in Japan on October 20.
