Funimation Adds Kuragehime, 2nd Heaven's Lost Property

Princess Jellyfish, Sora no Otoshimono: Forte begin streaming this month

Funimation has announced that it will begin simulcasting Princess Jellyfish (Kuragehime) on Thursday, October 28 at 12:45 p.m. EDT with the series' first two episodes as part of its ongoing deal with Fuji TV's Noitamina block. The series was announced in February, and it began airing in Japan on October 14. It was just revealed that the series' Blu-ray Disc and DVD releases will each include a bonus "Heroes" ("Eiyū Retsuden") episode in Japan.

The award-winning story centers around Tsukimi Kurashita, a huge fan of jellyfish (kurage, a wordplay on the "kura/mi" and "tsuki/ge" in her name) who moves to Tokyo to become an illustrator. She moves into "Amamizukan," an apartment complex that is full of diehard female otaku with a no-men-allowed rule. However, one day, Tsukimi invites a stylishly fashionable woman to stay at her room at Amamizukan — only to discover that the guest is not who "she" seems to be.

Funimation has also acquired the rights to the second season of Heaven's Lost Property (Sora no Otoshimono), to be released under the name Heaven's Lost Property Forte. Crunchyroll simulcasted the first season based on Suu Minazuki's manga of the same name as it aired in Japan last fall. Funimation announced the first season's North American DVD license this past May. The second season, which is known as Sora no Otoshimono Forte in Japan, was announced this past March, and Crunchyroll is currently simulcasting it as well. Funimation will begin streaming the second season on Friday at 12:30 p.m. EDT.

The anime adapts Suu Minazuki's manga about Tomoki Sakurai (Souichiro Hoshi), an ordinary middle school boy whose motto is "Peace is the #1 priority." However, a strange girl often appears in his dream to ask for his help — only he cannot remember her face when he wakes up. Then, his life gets more complicated when an unidentified mysterious animal (UMA) falls out of the skies. The "animal" turns out to be Ikaros (Saori Hayami), an angel.
