Shuho Sato: Site Offers to Translate Say Hello to Black Jack

posted on by Egan Loo
Overseas site would translate for free, sell translated manga, share revenue with Sato

Manga creator Shuho Sato reported on his Twitter account on Friday that an overseas site offered to translate his Say Hello to Black Jack manga for free. This unnamed site also requested permission to distribute and sell the translated version overseas, after which it would share the revenues with Sato.

Besides Say Hello to Black Jack, Sato created Umizaru, The Isle of TOKKOU, and several other manga titles. On Tuesday, he asked for volunteer English translators for his manga, and he then posted the first chapter of Say Hello to Black Jack on his Twitpic account so people could submit translations. Sato himself has been self-publishing his manga online since last summer, and he launched a website to release his manga (and manga by other creators) online.
