Paradise Kiss, Mardock Scramble, Gon Promos Streamed

The entertainment news website Movie Collection has begun streaming a teaser trailer for the live-action film adaptation of Ai Yazawa's Paradise Kiss manga on its YouTube channel on Monday. Keiko Kitagawa (live-action Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon's Sailor Mars, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift's Reiko) stars as Yukari, a high school girl discovered by a group of up-and-coming fashion school students including Jōji "George" Koizumi (Mukai). The students transform Yukari (now nicknamed "Caroline") into a fashion model. Osamu Mukai (Honey and Clover, Nodame Cantabile, Mei-chan no Shitsuji, Beck) will play George. The film will open next year.
The website of King Record's Starchild label is hosting a new 15-second television commercial from Susumu Kudo and GoHands' Mardock Scramble anime film trilogy. (In the linked page, select the purple "マルドゥック・スクランブル 劇場用TV-SPOT" icon in the top righthand column.) The first of three films, Mardock Scramble: The First Compression, will open in Japan on Saturday. Tow Ubukata, the author of the original Mardock Scramble science-fiction novel series, personally presented the world premiere of Mardock Scramble: The First Compression at New York Comic Con last month.
The American news agency Aving began streaming a MIPCOM 2010 event report about the Korean computer-animated adaptation of Masashi Tanaka's Gon manga on October 6. The video features footage from the project and a short interview with Hoyoung Jung of the production company Daewon Media. The original manga's namesake is an orange dinosaur-like creature that lives amongst the rest of nature, long after The Age of Dinosaurs. Tanaka deliberately created the manga without any dialogue to give the animals' interactions and the lone creature's day-to-day life a sense of realism. The project is planned as an action comedy with 52 11-minute episodes.
The official website for Makoto Shinkai's newest project, Hoshi o Ou Kodomo: Children Who Chase Lost Voices from Deep Below, is announcing this week that the Yahoo! Movies Japan website will stream teaser footage from the project on November 9 at noon. While Shinkai has not revealed many details of the film's story last December, he did say that it is a "lively" animated film with adventure, action, romance, and a girl as the protagonist. The film will deal with loss like his previous feature films did, and it will also deal with how to survive that loss. According to Shinkai's personal website, the girl is heading on a journey to say, "Farewell." Earlier, he said that the next film will be his longest animation film to date, and the story will revolve around one heroine, a cheerful and spirited girl.
