Crunchyroll Adds Kiddy Girl-and, Mushi-Uta (Updated)

posted on by Gia Manry
1st 3 episodes of each available for free; Cosplay Complex also launched

The media-distribution site Crunchyroll has announced three additions to its offerings from Japanese media conglomerate Kadokawa: Kiddy Girl-AND, Mushi-Uta, and Cosplay Complex.

The first three episodes of Kiddy Girl-AND and Mushi-Uta, both which have not been released in North America prior to this, are available to all users for free. Additional episodes are available only to users with a paid subscription. For the three-episode original video anime (OVA) series Cosplay Complex, only the first episode is free, with the latter two available to paid users. Additional episodes will be made available every week.

Kiddy Girl-AND is the 2009 sequel to 2002's Kiddy Grade anime, and it takes place decades after the events of the original series. The story revolves around two new heroines, Ascoeur and Q-feuille, who are training to work for the galactic government known as GTO.

The 2007 TV anime Mushi-Uta is based on the light novel series of the same name by Kyohei Iwai and illustrated by LLO. In the near future, insect-like creatures called "mushi" begin appearing and consuming peoples' thoughts, granting the humans supernatural powers. Protagonist Daisuke hunts mushi, but the past of his companion Shiika comes back to haunt them both.

Cosplay Complex is a 2002 comedy revolving around a struggling high school cosplay club attempting to win the Cosplay World Series. The television anime was licensed by ADV Films in 2002, and was announced as a future streaming title by Crunchyroll at the New York Anime Festival this past October.
