Hōkago no Pleiades, Hoshi Mamoru Inu Promos Streamed

The car maker Subaru and the anime studio Gainax have posted a new 49-second promotional video trailer for their Hōkago no Pleiades (Afterschool Pleiades) original net anime on Wednesday. The Pleiades is the English name for the star cluster that the Japanese call "Subaru" — the origin of the car maker's name and six-star logo. The original story's staff includes director Shouji Saeki (Mahoromatic: Tadaima Okaeri, Strike Witches 2 episode storyboarder), concept artist and original character designer Daisuke Kikuchi (Gurren Lagann, Mahoromatic: Tadaima Okaeri), and character designer Mai Otsuka (Shakugan no Shana, Hanamaru Kindergarten). Also involved are art director Hiroshi Katō (Evangelion Shin Gekijōban: Jo/Ha, Gunbuster 2), director of photography Toyonori Yamada (Gurren Lagann, Hanamaru Kindergarten), and color key artist Chie Yoshimura (Chou Gekijouban Keroro Gunsō, The Big O). The anime project premieres exclusively on the YouTube website in high-definition on February 1.
The Yahoo! Movies Japan website has posted a 34-second teaser trailer for Tomoyuki Takimoto's live-action film adaptation of Takashi Murakami's Hoshi Mamoru Inu manga. The story follows the final journey that a middle-aged man (Tsuri Baka Nisshi's Toshiyuki Nishida) makes to Hokkaido with his faithful canine companion.
Apple's QuickTime website is hosting the English trailer for Hideaki Anno and Khara's Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance film. The trailer is streaming in 480p and is also available for downloading in four different resolutions, including 1080p. Funimation is screening the film in several American cities from January 19 to March 20.
The official website for the Wandering Son (Hourou Musuko) television anime series began streaming the fourth documentary video short, "Bokutachi no, Shimekiri" ("Our Deadline") on the making of the anime on Monday. (The website is still streaming the previous three shorts.) The anime adapts a manga by Takako Shimura (Aoi Hana/Sweet Blue Flowers), and Fantagraphics Books plans to release the first manga volume in North America next month. The anime will premiere in Fuji TV's late-night Noitamina timeslot on Thursday.
