Funimation's Storm-Delayed Simulcasts Now Online

posted on by Gia Manry

On Monday, the North American anime distributor Funimation announced via its blog that all four of its ongoing simulcasts from the past week would be delayed. Three of the titles are Fractale (whose delay was originally announced the week prior), Hetalia: World Series, and Freezing. While the latest episode of One Piece went online at Funimation's OnePieceOfficial website at its regularly scheduled time, the episode did not stream on Hulu until Wednesday. The episodes were delayed because Funimation's headquarters in Flower Mound, Texas was closed for several days last week. The closure was the result of rolling power outages and icy road conditions throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

At press time, Hetalia: World Series episode 42, Freezing episode four, and One Piece episode 486 had been made available to stream. Fractale is on break this week in Japan, so its fourth episode will stream on Thursday at 11:45am Eastern time, one week after it would normally have aired. The fifth episode will air next Thursday, at which time the simulcast will be in sync with its Japanese airing.

The normal simulcast schedule for these series is as follows (all times listed are in Eastern Standard Time):

  • Hetalia: World Series: 10:00 a.m. Mondays
  • Freezing: 10:30 a.m. Mondays
  • Fractale: 11:45 a.m. Thursdays
  • One Piece:- 9:00 p.m. Saturdays
