Funimation Adds Fumihiko Sori's To Science-Fiction Anime

On Saturday, the North American anime distributor Funimation announced its acquisition of the original video anime (OVA) To at Katsucon in National Harbor, Maryland. Funimation intends to release the 2009 OVA on Blu-ray Disc and DVD this summer. Appleseed producer and Vexille director Fumihiko Sori directed this adaptation of two stories from Yukinobu Hoshino's manga 2001 Nights, which depicts humans at different stages of their centuries-long ascent into space. Manga UK had already acquired the OVA for release in the United Kingdom.
Last August, Funimation announced that SORI would direct the first project of its Original Entertainment division, a co-production with videogame developer BioWare based on its popular Dragon Age franchise.
Additionally, Funimation has announced the English-language dub cast for Baka and Test - Summon the Beasts:
- Hideyoshi - Brina Palencia
- Kouta - Greg Ayres
- Minami - Leah Clark
- Mizuki - Alexis Tipton
- Shouko - Jamie Marchi
The ADR Director for Baka and Test will be Terry Doty.
