Blu-ray box to have main film in 3D, three 3D Tachikoma na Hibi shorts

The stereoscopic 3D conversion of Kenji Kamiyama's Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex: Solid State Society film will ship in a Blu-ray Disc box with three new Tachikoma na Hibi comedy shorts in 3D and a Tachikoma na Hibi short in 2D on July 22. In addition, Bandai Visual will offer the entire 73-episode Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - Tachikoma na Hibi series in a Blu-ray Disc collection exclusively on its .Anime retail site on August 26.

In addition to the deluxe "Dennōka Box," there will be standard Blu-ray Disc and DVD releases for the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex: Solid State Society -Another Dimension- version of the film. However, only the Dennōka Box will include the film in stereoscopic 3D and the three 3D Tachikoma shorts. All versions will have footage from the opening-day greetings by the staff and cast, trailers, television commercials, audio commentaries, and other extras.

Kamiyama oversaw Production I.G's stereoscopic 3D conversion of their film, which now includes a newly animated opening sequence. Kamiyama also directed a "Xi AVANT" anime film short will play with the Solid State Society film. The main film opened in Tokyo's Shinjuku Wald 9 theater and 8 other Japanese theaters on March 26, and "Xi AVANT" will be added to screenings starting this weekend.
