Strike Witches BD Box Sells 5,000 to Top Weekly Chart

Limited-edition reissue of Blu-ray Box to mark upcoming Strikes Witches film
The limited-edition Blu-ray Box reissue for the Strike Witches anime sold about 5,000 copies (rounded to the nearest thousand) to top Oricon's sales chart for the May 9-15 week in Japan. The 36,750-yen (about US$451) box commemorates the upcoming Strike Witches film with an encore pressing of the box that first shipped last June. At that time, the box only reached #6 on the weekly charts.
Early sales of the box reissue actually propelled it onto SoundScan Japan's top 5 chart for May 2-8, even though the official release date was May 10.
The television anime's first season ran from July to September of 2008, and the second series ran from July to September of 2010.
