Ghibli's version of The Borrowers screened on June 18 and 20,

The Studio Ghibli film Karigurashi no Arrietty, based on the British children's book The Borrowers, will be screened at the Edinburgh Film Festival in June. It will be shown twice, on June 18 at 1220 and again on June 20 at 1945. Both screenings will be at the Filmhouse on Lothian Road (map). The film page is here.

Tickets go on general release on Friday May 20, although members of the Filmhouse can buy them now. Tickets are £9, or £7.50 for students, senior citizens and other concessions.

The website lists the voice-cast for the Disney-produced dub of Arrietty: Will Arnett, Amy Poehler and Carol Burnett.

The film is already scheduled to be shown at Sheffield on May 29 (see here) and London's Barbican on July 6 (see here).

Arrietty is also provisionally scheduled for a UK cinema release on July 29, according to an official website. However, all dates and details on the site are subject to change.

Arrietty was released by Studio Ghibli in Japan in July last year, directed by the first-timer Hiromasa Yonebayashi. It is based on Mary Norton's book, The Borrowers, published in Britain in 1952,
