"Take Off" is highest selling debut single by Korean group in Japan

"Take off," the Blue Exorcist ending theme song by the all-male Korean dance/vocal group 2PM, sold 59,000 copies (rounded to the nearest thousand) to debut at #4 on Oricon's singles sales ranking chart for the May 16-22 week. It has the highest first-week sales of any debut single by a Korean group in Japan.

The previous record-holder, Girls' Generation's "Genie," sold 45,000 copies in Japan last September. 2PM's Hottest ~2PM 1st Music Video Collection & The History DVD went on sale in Japan last November and ranked #4 during its first week, the highest rank that a male Korean group has earned with its debut DVD.
