U.S. Publisher Lists Tokyopop's Former Warcraft Books

posted on by Gia Manry

The North American comics publisher Cryptozoic Entertainment's official website is currently listing American comic series Warcraft: Legends, based on videogame company Blizzard's popular game franchise and previously published by the international manga publisher Tokyopop. The company's listing states that it re-released the first volume of the series on its digital store for iOS mobile devices.

Fantasy author Richard Knaak writes Warcraft: Legends, with Korean artist Jae-Hwan Kim providing art. Tokyopop published five volumes of the series, along with several follow-up volumes.

Tokyopop is shutting down its North American publishing division on May 31. The LoreHound blog, which is devoted to Blizzard's World of Warcraft and other massively multi-player online games, reported in March that Blizzard and Tokyopop were amicably ending their co-publishing deal; however, neither company responded to ANN's request for comment at that time.
