Gajo Sakamoto's 1934 Tank Tankuro Manga Previewed in English

The website of The Comics Journal is presenting an eight-page preview of the English release of Gajō Sakamoto's Tank Tankuro manga. The strip was originally published in 1934-35; the English edition is shipping this Wednesday, July 20.
The Tank Tankuro manga features the adventures of the robot Tank Tankurō and the villain he fights, Kuro Kabuto ("Black Helmet"), in the decade before World War II. As such, the character predates even Mighty Atom/Astro Boy by manga and anime pioneer Osamu Tezuka.
The Tank Tankuro book has 240 comics pages plus essays and biographical information. Chris Ware designed the cover (pictured).
