Anime Network to start anime about NEET detective girl on July 31

The North American anime distributor Sentai Filmworks confirmed on Friday that it will release the Heaven's Memo Pad (Kami-sama no Memo-chō) anime. Digital distribution of the series will begin through The Anime Network on Sunday, July 31 with a video release of the 12 episodes on English-subtitled DVD to follow next year.

Based on the light novel series written by Hikaru Sugii, Kami-sama no Memo-chō centers around a shut-in "NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) detective" girl named Alice (Yui Ogura) and her assistant, a high school freshman boy named Narumi Fujishima (Yoshitsugu Matsuoka). Mel Kishida (So-Ra-No-Wo-To, Hana-Saku Iroha) illustrates the light novel volumes.

The anime premiered in Japan with a 60-minute special on July 2. Katsushi Sakurabi (Lunar Legend Tsukihime, Uragiri wa Boku no Namae o Shitteiru) is directing off scripts supervised by Seishi Minakami (Occult Academy, Shigurui: Death Frenzy, Toaru Kagaku no Railgun), and Taku Iwasaki (Black Butler, Read or Die, Gurren Lagann) is composing the music. ChouCho is performing the opening theme song "Kawaru Mirai," while Kenichi Suzumura is performing the ending theme "Asunaro."
