Adaptation of 3D dungeon role-playing game from AQUAPLUS

The online retailer Amazon listed the a new original video anime series adaptation of the ToHeart2 Dungeon Travelers 3D dungeon role-playing game on Friday. The first Blu-ray Disc volume is slated to ship on February 22, 2012.

The game takes the characters from the ToHeart2 romance visual novel franchise by Aquaplus and puts them in a fantasy role-playing game. Aquaplus released the game for the PSP portable platform this past June.

Jun'ichi Sakata (ToHeart2ad, ToHeart2 adplus, ToHeart2 adnext) is directing the anime project. Masahide Yanagisawa, Kenichirou Katsura, and Yasuhisa Kato are once again adapting the original character designs by Misato Mitsumi, Hisashi Kawata, Tatsuki Amazuyu, and Takeshi Nakamura for animation, just as they had done for previous ToHeart2 anime projects.

The following castmembers are returning:
Yurina Hase as Konomi Yuzuhara
Shizuka Itou as Tamaki Kōsaka
Noriko Rikimaru as Manaka Komaki
Hitomi Nabatame as Yuma Tonami
Sayori Ishizuka as Sango Himeyuri

Kousuke Toriumi as Yūji Kōsaka

The first volume will include a short story as a bonus extra, and the limited edition of the volume will bundle a big cloth "poster" and a newly recorded music CD.

North America's Right Stuf released the To Heart television anime series, which is based on the original visual novel of the same name. The followup game ToHeart2 inspired a ToHeart2 television series and four video anime series (ToHeart2, ToHeart2ad, ToHeart2 adplus, ToHeart2 adnext).

Update: More information added. The official Twitter accounts for Aquaplus and the production company Frontier Works confirmed the new anime project on Friday and added that the second of two volumes will ship on March 21.
