Wai-Con Invasion Convention On This Weekend

Perth anime convention Wai-Con will run its 2012 event at the Perth Convention Centre this weekend, from Saturday, January 28 to Sunday, January 29 with the theme 'Invasion'.
Events include cosplay and art competitions, screenings, traders, games, Japanese culture presentations and a show by John Robertson, a Perth comedian known for his work as MC at Wai-Con and Supanova's cosplay events. Kelly Turnbull, an Canadian animator and creator of the webcomic Manly Men Doing Manly Things, is attending as a special guest.
ANN|AU is attending to report on the event (and Madman's new releases over the weekend) and is running two panels. "ANN|AU's guide to AU conventions" will be on Sunday at 2:00pm, followed by "35/Male/Japan", a discussion on current trends in anime at 3:00pm.
Standard admission prices are $35 for one day or $40 for the weekend. Wai-Con's schedule is available online and further details are available on its website.
