NISA to Omit Recap Episode From Kimi no Todoke Vol. 2

NIS America's April 10 release of Kimi ni Todoke - From Me to You Volume 2 will not include episode 16, a recap episode. The company stated on its website that the episode would not be included because it "did not contain any new content."

A representative from NIS America gave ANN this additional comment:

When we signed the contract with the Japanese licenser for the Kimi ni Todoke Volume 1 and Volume 2 DVD release, episode 16 was not included, as it was not part of the original Japanese DVD release. Therefore, we moved forward with no plans to release episode 16 in North America. Later, after the Japanese licenser released information about including episode 16 in the Blu-ray version, we were already quite far along in production of the DVD/Blu-ray combo pack. Unfortunately, it was too late to integrate the episode into the package, and the cost of halting production to do so would have been much greater than we could afford. If episode 16 were completely new, of course we would have done our best to include it, but since the vast majority of it was simply repeating footage from previous episodes, we decided to leave it out. We fear that we weren't able to fulfill all the expectations of our fans and the fans of Kimi ni Todoke, but we truly support your understanding in this matter and your continued support.
