Manga artist uses '3D' techniques to draw himself falling off a cliff

Manga artist Yūsuke Murata (Eyeshield 21) began posting installments of a short manga on Twitter last Tuesday. Murata used drawing techniques, lighting effects, and paper folding to make the images seem more three-dimensional.

In the story, Murata falls off a cliff, and a persistent fan pursues him and his manga manuscript. The artist concluded the manga on Tuesday.

Murata announced last month that he is planning a new manga series with web manga creator ONE (Onepunchman). He launched the Donten Prism Solar Car manga with Moonlight Mile creator Yasuo Ohtagaki in 2010 after ending his Eyeshield 21 sports manga with Riichirou Inagaki in 2009.

Viz Media published the 37th and last Eyeshield 21 manga volume in North America in October 2011. Sentai Filmworks began releasing the the series in 2010 after Crunchyroll streamed it in several countries outside Japan.
